Former Ajax CEO No longer In Danger.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper joined the Eredivisie side’s board in 2012, becoming chief executive in 2016, he then reigned after 7 years in charge.
Edwin Van der sar became ill in less than a months time as the former CEO, was rushed to the hospital after an internal bleeding in his brain according to reports. Ajax football club has given an update on behalf of Annemarie van der Sar in Croatia: ‘Edwin is still in the intensive care unit, but is stable. He is not in life-threatening danger. Every time we get to visit him, he’s communicative. We have to wait patiently to see how his situation will develop.’
Van der Sar, 52 retired after 130 appearances for his country the Netherlands and a club career that made him one of the legends of Manchester United, having won the premier league four times and the champions league with both Ajax and Manchester United, with spells at Fulham and Juventus.
He later took up a position on the Board of Ajax in 2012 and ended his stay in 2023, As the football community wishes him well, we look forward to seeing Edwin recover fully.
