The Gunners end a 12 match Winless streak against City in the Premier League

Arsenal defeated Manchester City for the first time in the Premier League since the 2015 campaign period.

Gabriel Martinelli scored for the Gunners in the dying minutes to send the Gunners to second place in the Premier league.

Martinelli came in as a substitute early in the second half for Leandro Trossard and gave the Gunners the lead in the 86th minute thanks to lovely assist by former Chelsea player Kai Havertz.

Martinelli’s shot was deflected in the net by Manchester City’s defender Nathan Ake sending City’s goalkeeper Ederson the wrong way.

Arsenal and their London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs each have 20 points in the premier league match week 8, with the Gunners occupying the second place on a goal difference.

Manchester city suffered their first defeat in the Premier league to Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, yesterday’s defeat making this their second consecutive back-to-back defeats in the Premier league since December 2018.

City controlled much of the possession but did not manage to score a goal past the Arsenal stopper David Raya.

City were without their main man Rodri who received a straight red card and was suspended for three matches in the Premier League, they were also without Kevin De Bruyne who was off with an injury.

Tottenham and Arsenal remain the only two unbeaten teams in this new Premier league campaign and sit first and second respectively in the Premier league table.

Arsenal were without their star boy Bukayo Saka who sustained a muscle injury and was in doubt for yesterday’s match.

Liverpool dropped points at the Amex after playing to a 2-2 goal stalemate to remain fourth in the Premier League.

Brighton took the lead after an error from Liverpool’s stopper Alison Becker to gift Simon Adingra who slotted the ball passed the Liverpool stopper to give Brighton the lead in the 20th minute.

Liverpool responded in the 40th minute thanks to a lovely step-over by Harvey Elliot to gift Mohammed Salah who slotted the ball passed the Brighton stopper to level the game after an error by Brighton’s defender Lewis Dunk.

Liverpool took the lead 3 minutes later with Salah bagging his brace from the penalty spot to send the reds to a 2-1 lead in the first half. Brighton scored in the second half to send the game to a stalemate.

Westham and Newcastle shared points at the London stadium with Alexander Isak bagging a brace.
